Plaisir Palace

This temple to vintage fashion channels the glamour and decadence of the Parisian night

3 Rue Paul Dubois
75003 Paris,

@plaisirpalace

Located in a Northern Marais side street – in the Bermuda Triangle de la mode, between Ofr, The Broken Arm and the Carreau du Temple – this vintage shop is dedicated to Paris fashion from the 70s to the aughts: Yves Saint Laurent, Courrèges, Pierre Cardin always, and maybe Alaïa, Mugler or Margiela too… If Plaisir Palace sounds like it could be a nightclub or sex shop, it’s because owner Didier Barroso delights in conjuring an ideal wardrobe for a high society girl bent on no-holds-barred fun! That siren Emily in Paris is a fan. The pieces are arranged by colour in a pared-back space where Sottsass’s Ultrafragola mirror reigns supreme – the vibe is contemporary design, not fusty wardrobe.
