Maison Européenne de la Photographie
Contemporary photography centre set in a stately 18th-century mansion
Occupying an 18th-century mansion in Saint-Paul, Paris’ premier contemporary photography hub (est. 1996) has a 24,000-strong collection of works ranging from the 1950s to the present. Two levels are dedicated to exhibitions – be it Japanese icon Daidō Moriyama or 21st-century Chinese prodigy Ren Hang. There’s also a café, bookshop and video-viewing facility, alongside an emerging-artists gallery.
