The two aesthetes channel backgrounds in literature and art into their design company dedicated to manufacturing playful and poetic furniture and objects for the home. Italian born polyglot Massimiliano has a PHD in Russian literature, and Stéphane studied art history, law and interior design in Paris. An idea that Stéphane developed while working as an artistic director for Habitat under Tom Dixon was the beginning of their adventure. Convinced of the commercial potential of stickers as a contemporary alternative to wallpaper, the two quit their jobs and set up Domestic in the early aughts. A hit! But they were soon itching to take their collaborations with designers to a 3D environment, and so in 2009 Moustache was born.
