If Michel Vivien’s career is long and glittering - designing for labels from Christian Dior to Yves Saint Laurent before establishing his own house in 1998 - he remains one of Paris’s most confidential shoemakers. His Google footprint is unequal to the admiration he garners from fashion insiders, where he’s universally admired for his at once bold, sensual, and timeless collections, that manage to mix tradition with the avant-garde. His designs are fuelled by passions for the ancient arts of drawing and painting, and a “no-screens” credo. The house opened its first boutique in 2021.
