The Paris-based parfumier is an autodidact who came to the trade via a meandering route: raised amid the rugged landscape of England’s Lake District, he studied Philosophy and Aesthetics at King’s College, London, then furniture and vase design in Paris. Today, Heeley is one of the few founder-run luxury perfume houses in Europe – an independence that provides its eponymous creator with the freedom to create unique scents inspired by nature.
