Fanatical about denim ever since he received a pair of Edwins from his mother at 14, Arthur also spent his teens racing motorcycles throughout France and Europe. After a ‘Bac Pro’ professional certificate in mechanics and metalwork, he moved to Paris late 2011 preparing to open Edwin’s first boutique in France. A few years later, still obsessed with the ‘roping effect’ (Google it) on the hems of his favourite vintage Levi’s, he hunted down a rare Union Special chain stitch sewing machine in Thailand, then learnt to use, maintain and repair it! No mean feat, that synthesised his expertise in both mechanics and denim. Superstitch was born. In 2019 his workshop opened on Rue Racine, where a batallion of specialised machines – Union Special, Singer USA and Reece – allow Arthur and co. to repair (and soon to make), from A to Z, your favourite pair of jeans.
