Ofr. 25 Year Retrospective Special | Life in Paris | Must-Have Mkrs. Shop Selections 🎈

Happy Birthday OFR

Don’t miss Ofr.’s giant quarter-century retrospective art show, on from today through Monday at 27 Boulevard Jules Ferry 75011. Amble through 25 years of the landmark bookshop, gallery and publisher’s eclectic and passionate engagement with art, ideas and people. Around 100 artists and friends of the gallery present original works - everyone from co-owner Marie Thumerelle to old pals Thurston Moore or Mark Borthwick - and there’s a bunch of rare editions and posters too from the likes of Larry Clark, Hedi Slimane, Shepard Fairey and more. Plus surprise performances. And everything's for sale. See you there!

Meet Ofr. founders Marie & Alexandre Thumerelle

Chiming with their show, this week we cast the spotlight on makers Alex and Marie Thumerelle, the charismatic brother-and-sister duo behind Ofr. After putting on the first ever Daft Punk concert in the early ‘90s, they ventured into publishing and bookselling, opening the Tardis-like Ofr. HQ in 1996. An insane horde of hard-to-find and must-have magazines, books and catalogues lines its walls, alongside vinyl and their in-house fashion line. Seductive as that is, Ofr. is more of a state of mind: a place that's â€˜Open, Free, and Ready’ for whatever might come, be it gigs, vernissages, radio shows or pop-ups, drawing the (p)arty set. They've even ventured into filmmaking of late in order to capture their love of Paris.

Life in Paris

Azzedine AlaĂŻa and Peter Lindbergh

AlaĂŻa x Lindbergh at Fondation AlaĂŻa – Legends in fashion and photography respectively, Azzedine AlaĂŻa and Peter Lindbergh met in 1979, early in their careers, kickstarting what would be a decades-long collaboration and friendship. The Fondation AlaĂŻa is celebrating the shared aesthetic (most obviously a love of black) behind their seemingly diverse worlds through a show of 50 photographs and 32 couture pieces. Remember to book your slot online – it’s likely to be a hot ticket.

CƓur SacrĂ©

CƓur SacrĂ© – A new concept store from glam Paris Society facing the SacrĂ©-CƓur on one side, and the Eiffel Tower on the other. Ethical brands with Paris savoir-faire rule the downstairs souvenir space, which takes in fashion, lifestyle and art (courtesy of Nathan Chantob's huge Serge and Jane mural) plus there's a coffee shop and Ă©picerie. From 9 June, the rooftop bar/restaurant will offer Italo-Mexican tapas by tag-team Lorenzo Rennella and Pepe Iglesias alongside the epic views.

Vivant

Vivant Take Two – The respected restaurant Vivant, known for its short but sharp list of small plates, is back – now with Roberto Mendoza (ex-Le Saint SĂ©bastien) at the helm, replacing the talented Pierre Touitou. Mendoza’s former collaborator Sara Petersdotter will serve as sommelier, and we’re already excited by the prospect of natural wines from Tinos to Toronto – plus opening-menu combos like roasted carrots, salsa macha and stracciatella.

Parvis of the Palais de Tokyo/Museum of Modern Art

Terrace Time â€“ The parvis of the Palais de Tokyo/Museum of Modern Art is on fire, with three new eateries to soak up those Eiffel Tower views. First up, Moma Group has a summer pop-up Dumbo Park by ‘smash burger’ sensations Dumbo. On 25 May, veggie icon Julien Sebbag’s organic restaurant Forest opens in and outside the MAM, while as of today the crew behind Monsieur Bleu open a second Palais de Tokyo spot, the “big children’s trattoria” Bambini.
