New Arrivals on the Mkrs. Shop

Jamming – Artisanal jam lab Confiture Parisienne’s wild gourmet jams are made in copper cauldrons, and star ingredients from the Paris region. Their four-pack sampler includes a chestnut and pear combo, and carrot vanilla passion, as well as single-fruit raspberry and pear. More fun still is their Vitamin-C-boosted ‘Fuck Le Virus’, with kiwi and yuzu – and their hook-up with design house Antoinette Poisson, reviving Madame Pompadour's favourite dessert. Browse all our great new arrivals here!

The Cat’s Whiskers – Historic fan house Duvelleroy’s striking ‘Léon The Cat Hand-Fan’ is the ultimate way to keep cool, and to keep the city's many pesky pooches at arm’s length. The house has been painting portraits of clients’ pets onto fans since it started in the 19th century. Today, Paris artist Marie-Victoire de Bascher revives this amusing heritage, with her vintage-style etching of playful feline Léon, available in both pop and natural versions.

Our latest Guest Curator, born-and-bred Parisienne Emily Marant, comes from fine creative stock – most famously her aunt Isabel who continues to define French chic. Her rise to Paris It-girl status began when, at 27, she founded creative agency Studio Marant, drawing on emerging talents to stage genre-hopping pop-ups, capsule collections and parties. Together with Hugo Matha, she’s now launched French Cliché, a roving gallery and label transforming icons of French culture into witty limited-edition interiors objects (you'll find a selection of pieces here). Check out her selection of must-haves from the Mkrs. catalogue – and read our exclusive profile to find out more!

Life in Paris

Paris Gallery Weekend – The cultural vacuum of recent months is well and truly over, with this popular gallery-hopping event back for an eighth outing until Sunday. Follow the seven dedicated routes – from Pantin to Belleville and the Marais – as you check out exhibitions, and showcase your grasp of the non-fungibiles market with key art players. On the agenda: pop-ups, signings and talks by over 300 artists, including Gilbert and George in conversation at Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac.

Musée Carnavalet Reopens – After a five-year, €58 million renovation, Paris’ oldest history museum is back. Now laid out in chronological order, its collection is stupefying: gawp at Marcel Proust’s bedroom, Marie Antoinette’s wares, or the 10-hour clocks of revolutionary France. Some 610,000 rare items tell the history of Paris from its pre-Lutetia days to the 20th century – a dizzying form of time travel best chased by an apéro in the museum’s new café, overlooking the lush gardens.

Soon in our Mkrs. Paris HQ

You're invited to come and visit the Mkrs. Paris HQ, where we’ll be hosting a new exhibition ‘Parisienne’ from our latest Guest Maker Justine Fraysse from 10 June-1 July. Raised in Carcasonne, the autodidact photographer captures startling moments of daily life, while her love of nature has also led to series exploring forests. Her new show, featuring images taken on the streets of Paris over the past few years, sidesteps clichés of French femininity, exploring the elegance and humanity of mature subjects. Both her portraits and more abstract images invite the viewer to dream about the colourful lives fleetingly fixed by her gaze.
Opening Thu 10 June, 5.30-7.30pm
