After a stint at the ESCP school of management, Caroline studied fashion design at the historic Studio Berçot, before earning her stripes at A.P.C. She set up Bourgine in 2015, in her local quarter, Saint Germain des Prés, where she lives above her workshop (“like a baker in 1900”, as she jokingly puts it). The playful made in Paris label is inspired by books, films and art, an even includes a range of jaunty knits with patterns inspired by classic Parisian bistro chairs.
