Born in Sweden to Portuguese parents who had fled their country’s Estado Novo regime, André moved to Paris with his family as a ten-year-old in 1981. A few years later he was running alongside artists like Invader and Zevs as part of the first generation of the Parisian street art scene, tagging the city not with his name, but with his cheeky Mr. A character. He has since brought his elegant outlaw approach to projects ranging from nightclubs and cafés to magazines, shops, and hotels.
